Söda Gompa Eastern Tibet

Overlooking Chugu Gompa is this rarely visited Nyingmapa monastery, which was built in 1872 and is home to 30 monks. The hilltop grassland setting here is stunning, with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and Chugu Gompa below. The first hall you reach on the approach to the monastery is original; the main hall to the left is a newer construction.
