Number One Beach Dominica

This moody black-sand beach is fringed by coconut palms, sea grape and white mangrove. The currents are too strong for swimming but it's a nice spot for a picnic or a stroll. It's about a 15-minute walk from the road – look for the sign. During nesting season (April to June), various turtle species come ashore to lay their eggs.
