Levuka Village Ovalau & The Lomaiviti Group

Tidy little Levuka village, once the home of Tui (Chief) Cakobau, is 200m further north. In the cemetery next to the village's Methodist Church, is the grave of American consul JB Williams who died in 1860. It was his claims for financial compensation that led Cakobau to hand over Fiji to Britain.
