Lautoka Sugar Mill Nadi, Suva & Viti Levu

From Marine Dr it is possible to walk to this mill, the backbone of the local economy. The mill opened in 1903 and is still by all accounts the largest sugar mill in the southern hemisphere. There are no tours, but you should be able to see the conveyors and pipeline for loading sugar, woodchips and molasses into the waiting cargo boats.
