Locals ‘lime’ and exchange gossip at this grassy park anchored by a circular fountain crowned by three topless nymphs. Once called Pall Mall Sq, its dark past as a venue for 18th-century slave auctions is not readily apparent, and the entire place has a curiously genteel air, with its red phone boxes, 18th-century Georgian buildings and cathedral.
