Drangshlíð Rock The South

Impressive turf houses and old farmhouses built into an enormous freestanding rock, in front of the Eyjafjöll Mountains. Local farmers would keep their stock in these houses, and legend has it they were also once home to elves. Visitors can walk up to the site to take photos (don't go in the houses) and are encouraged to leave a donation in the box to ensure the maintenance of the site.
