Birdi Chand Well Rajasthan

On the northwestern side of town, about 1km from Nehru Bazaar, is Birdi Chand Well, surmounted by four imposing minarets which are covered in fading paintings. As water is such a precious commodity in the desert, wells were sacred, and it’s common to see a temple at a well – there’s a small one here devoted to Hanuman (the Hindu monkey god).
