Barracks Square New Brunswick

Once the home of 18th-century garrison guards, the Barracks are now home to New Brunswick College of Craft & Design. The open-air basement arches around back house small student studios. Also here is the Guard House where you can see how the common soldier lived (or was locked up) in the 1820s. When a guard was not on his beat, he could rest here on a bed made of hard planks. Free tours available.
